The Apples of Mrs. Chavis' Eye! :)

We have a wonderful group this year! We have been having so much fun getting to know each other:) We have been doing some really great things in the classroom. We read "The Kissing Hand" on the first day of school to help ease any anxiety felt by the students. We have also read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" as an introduction to the alphabet. The kids just *loved* watching the "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom video. We have begun to explore reading and writing. During our "All About Me" unit, the students created a family tree and wrote about their families. The kids have also created themselves by using foam t-shirts, foam face circles, yarn, googly eyes, markers, etc.! It was a great experience :) We have been learning about spatial relationships and sorting during math! I will be posting pictures soon of some of our wonderful projects and activities :)

I am so happy to welcome these students to my class! They are certianly the apples of my eye :)

Welcome to Mrs. Chavis' Kindergarten class! Thank you for visiting our class blog.
